WORLD CUP: STIFF FIGHT OF THREE FORMER CHAMPIONS

Three former world champions, Italy, England and Uruguay will compete fiercely in the race for the top two positions slot in Group D campaign for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil which will kicks off on Friday. Costa Rica, labeled as minnows is just considered to be complementary in that group.

1966 world champion, England will face four-time champion, Italy while the winner of the first edition, Uruguay will be going against Costa Rica in the opener on June 15.

The prolific Uruguay's Luis Suarez, certainly does not want to go home early in this world cup. England which has a poor track record every time they meet Italy, needs to amend before moving further.

Two experienced players from Italy, Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo want to repeat their world champion history in 2006 in Germany but the 'Azzurri Squad' is seen a little dull at the moment.

Midfielder Riccardo Montolivo is put aside due to his foot injury, while Italy's striker, Giuseppe Rossi is cureently having fitness problems. Such situations lead Italy to rely on Mario Balotelli to attack the defense team of their opponent.
