TEENAGE BOY'S CHEST PERFORATED IN AN EXPLOSION OF HOMEMADE FIRECRACKER


Dungun, Terengganu: A teenage boy's chest perforated by  plastic bottles shrapnel while his twin was injured in the stomach after their homemade firecracker made with compressed sulfur in plastic bottles exploded in Kampung Bukit Chatak yesterday.

In the 11am incident, the fragments of plastic bottles in Mohd Fahmi Adri's chest, 14 were successfully removed before the hole sewn and  his condition is now stable. Meanwhile, the twin brother, Mohd Fikri who was wounded in the stomach also received several stitches.

Mohd Fahmi was initially treated at the Dungun Hospital before being taken to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu for further treatment, while Mohd Fikri will only be treated in Dungun Hospital.

Besides Mohd Fahmi and Mohd Fikri, two others, Ahmad Alfisyahrin Derasid, 14, and Muhammad Faiz Izzuddin Ibrahim, 13, were also wounded in the incident and treated as an outpatient at the Dungun Hospital.

The brother of the twins,  Mohd Hakim Adri, 19, said one of the twins was trying to pierce the veil of the plastic bottle containing sulfur ​​to put the wick for their homemade firecracker before the it exploded and injured the four friends.
