Bangkok: Miss Thailand 2014 Weluree 'Fai' Ditsayabut yesterday handed her crown after involvement in the country's political crisis.Weluree who was crowned in May will be replaced by the runner-up Pimbongkod 'Ellie' Chankaewbertinda, organizer said.
Weluree was previously defamed because of her statement in the Facebook labeling that pro-government protesters as trash, bad and must be killed.
According to reports, the 22-year-old girl often publish derogatory remarks on red shirts in the social page. "I am not excepted. I support the king, I so hate the red shirts. They should be killed, "said Weluree in a statement.
She also said that Thailand would be cleaner if all the supporters of the red shirts leave the country. The pro-government supporters question Weluree victory. The Facebook page protesting her victory got 10,000 'like', yesterday.
Some users criticized her beauty and claims that she won because of her relationship with the organizer. Deputy Director of Human Rights Watch's Asia division, Phil Robertson condemned on Weluree's statement.
"She should have won the title of 'Thailand Queen of Destabilization' he said on Twitter.
