7 YEAR-OLD HAD FATAL FALL


A mother never expected that her seven year old daughter would have a fatal fall from the six floor balcony of their of residential apartment just as she went to a nearby shop.

In the 6.30 pm incident on Thursday, the the body of Nur Alisya Mohd Rafiq who lives at home with her brother and sister aged between eight and 10 years was found on the ground floor of Sri Angkasa Apartment at Section 28, Shah Alam.

The mother, Suzana Nur Abdullah, 38, said the tragedy was only discovered when she was on her way home from a shop near the apartment. She said she was shocked to see a group of people crowding at the ground floor of the apartment.

"I tried to see what was happening, but I was surprised to find Alisya lying on the road.

"Alisya often playing on the balcony as she wanted to see the sights. I did not expect her action would cause death " she said at the mortuary of Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang yesterday.

She however could not continue the conversation because she was too sad that family members and friends had to wind her down.

Meanwhile, a witness, Mohd Shahril Abdul Hadi, 27, said he was disappointed that he did not manage to rescue the victim who was seen hanging on the balcony of their house.

"I was with two other neighbors ran down the apartment and took a carpet. However, we did not manage to put the carpet there as the victim had already fallen. I heard the victim screaming for help, but we cannot do anything. The victim fell right in front of me, "he said.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said the case is classified as sudden death.
